AST Medical Student and Resident ATC 2026 Travel Grant

The American Transplant Congress (ATC) is organized jointly by the American Society of Transplant Surgeons (ASTS) and the American Society of Transplantation (AST). As the premier event for organ transplantation physicians, scientists, and surgeons, it brings together attendees from across the country to explore cutting edge scientific ideas and clinical practices.

The AST is offering this grant to foster interest in transplant careers among the next generation of medical professionals. Attending the ATC offers medical students and residents a valuable opportunity to explore the field while building meaningful connections with fellow trainees, mentors, and transplant professionals nationwide.

Participation Opportunities

  1. For Applicants (Students and Residents) This opportunity is open to medical and pharmacy students, as well as residents, who have an interest in transplantation. No prior experience in the field is required. Grant recipients will receive funding for travel, lodging, and registration fees.

To be eligible, candidates must:

  • Be enrolled in an accredited program or residency at the time of the ATC.
  • Be available to attend the conference in person.
  • Be an AST student or trainee member.

Interested applicants must submit an application, CV, Letter of Recommendation, and a Statement of Interest.

  1. For Mentors The program is looking for experienced transplant professionals to provide guidance and support to grant recipients before and during the ATC 2026.
  2. For Application Reviewers: The AST is seeking transplant professionals willing to review and evaluate grant applications. This contribution helps select the most promising future leaders in transplantation.
