Every year since 2012, ASN has hosted the FIT bowl at Kidney Week to inspire fellows to compete and learn nephrology in a fun and competitive way. In previous years, there had been 2 teams of fellows from different fellowship programs competing for the winning spot. The first round was “Case Based Debates” (mystery case) run by Hitesh H Shah and Kenar Jhaveri followed by a fun filled Jeopardy round with Jim Simon.
This year, we are making big changes and turning the competition into a 2-day process that will allow for even more learning opportunities. The games will begin on Thursday, October 25, 2018 from 10:30am-12:30pm in the Scientific Exposition floor, Hall A of the San Diego Convention Center.

In the Semi-Finals, 4 teams compete in Case-Based Debates; the top 2 teams advance to the Finals.

In the Finals, 2 teams compete in single and double Nephron Challenges.
Winners
The winners of the competition will be recognized at the plenary session on Saturday, October 27, 2018 from 8:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. PDT in Hall D of the Convention Center.
Fellowship programs have already volunteered to compete. Join us to support this fellows’ event on both days that should be lot of fun – especially for medical students, residents and fellows!
